How To Get Documents To The Editor (part 1)
How do we as communication professionals get our documents to the editors
1. We need to have a solid media/press list
2. Always keep in touch with media personalities. Do media launches first before you send the products or services to the public. Do lunches or cocktails ( have this as part of your communication budget)
3. Never send out a bcc email to editors.
It looks rushed and rude, you can bcc journalist but not editors.
Editors need to be addressed one by one and as per their respective media houses.
The documents you send to a media house MUST go through the EDITOR
Even if you know the journalist at a personal level.
Send the invite to the Editor and cc the journalist
