HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE FUDGE LOAF CAKE


If you love rich, indulgent chocolate cake, you need to make this cake! 
It’s super easy to make and so delicious with that thick, fudgy icing.

Here’s what you’ll need

For the cake:
225g Unsalted butter, softened
200g Granulated sugar
4 large eggs
80ml Buttermilk, room temp
1 tsp Instant coffee, dissolved in 1 tsp of hot water
125g Plain flour
65g Cocoa powder
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt

For the icing:
110g Icing sugar
125g Unsalted butter
250g Semi-sweet chocolate chips (can use any chocolate)
200ml Double cream
1/4 tsp Salt

Icing method:
Add all ingredients to a saucepan - stir on low heat until the butter & chocolate have melted.
Pour into a bowl, allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

160C (fan) 50-60mins
Tin size: 8.5x5”

The coffee is optional but recommended for a deeper more intense chocolate flavour. My fiancé hates coffee and he doesn’t even know it’s in there... (I haven’t told him 🤫)
